There are two things to be aware of when sharing projects:. Firstly, turn off Overload Protection. If your files are overloading you really need to address this in the Logic Pro X Project itself! Clicking on the Options button in the Export window allows you to have some control over how your tracks are named. If any of the effect auxes are distorting, you can drop their levels down. All Sends will then be set to zero.

It makes much more sense to send stems — ie. Choose Summing Stack as the option in the Window that opens and rename the Stack to something useful. Creating a Summing Stack. Thanks to everyone for their advice. I did have to adjust tempo settings as the intro tempo is different from the target project into which I was inserting the intro.

I did that using global settings and all is well. Did I mention how much I love this forum and how incredibly valuable it has been for me? In the demo, they select about 10 tracks and delete both the regions and the track headers at once. I’ve looked for a shortcut for this but can’t find it. Do you know how they did it in one fell swope? I always have to delete one and then the other. Dave, It’s a little trick of the video demonstrator I guess.

When selects the multiple regions he hits the “Delete” key and the “Delete Unused Tracks” very fast one by one which looks as one shot in the video. Just try and you will achieve the same result. I don’t use the “Delete Unused Tracks” function because I tend to occasionally put a blank track between other tracks as a separator been doing this since the Master Tracks Pro days.

But, at least now I know there is no shortcut to delete both at once. From what I see, you are selecting a lot of tracks using the Marquee tool, so once you copy, it’s copying all those tracks, so that’s normal that you are pasting a lot of sections from different regions. That brighter white-ish selection on your first image, is selecting all those tracks, not just the bottom one. This 3ple account is no longer active.

All my new posts are under ” Danny Wyatt “:. I should have been clear: I am trying to make a selection in the editor window, so I am a bit surprised that it still selects all tracks. I am selecting the area using the marquee strip underneath the timeline. I’m assuming you already have those other tracks selected and once you double click the audio region, it just doesn’t “deselect” them? Try and click somewhere outside that marquee selection to deselect everything, then just double click the audio and make your selection again.

I can’t replicate that behavior:. I think the problem is that I try to use the marquee strip under the timeline. It apparently selects all tracks even when I am in the editor. I never knew about that feature, to be honest.

I was just checking and that is because you have the Marquee Ruler ON go to View and disable the Marquee Ruler, in case that confuses you. I never used that and I don’t even know if I will ever use it, but I will save that info, just in case. Glad I could help, somehow. One practical use is if you want to insert silence just say half a beat at the end of a section just before the chorus or bridge, you use the marquee strip to select that “half beat” or whatever duration and then hit mute selection KC, Logic will cut every tracks and mutes the new regions in one go.

I know, cheezy hook but sometimes effective. User profile for user: Vacheto Vacheto. Reply Helpful Thread reply – more options Link to this Post. User profile for user: Eriksimon Eriksimon. Logic pro x copy tracks from one project to another free

Two posts above your somewhat late “complaint” I clearly wrote: “The problem with two open projects is that coreaudio is restarted each time when switching projects – this gets annoying pretty soon, especially if one of the projects has loading time of a few seconds or more.

If I remember correctly it does not do the reload thing when no audio device is elected. I’ve used Reaper for years with multiple project tabs open, and coreaudiod absolutely does not restart every time you switch a project window. In fact with Reaper, you can even have one track or multiple tracks playing from one project window, while you record another track in another project window.

Just seems like a pointless limitation. No, sure there is no “logical” reason, which is why the programmers did that: for no reason at all, because Logic programmers hate people. So how do you “know” there is “no logical reason”? Seems to me you are just assuming something, and the assumption is based on nothing aka “illogical”. If I had to take a guess, probably something from long ago where there -was- a valid reason that was never updated. There could be many reasons why it’s programmed that way, and why it could be challenging for the developers to change the way it behaves today.

Maybe Logic isn’t programmed to handle Core Audio in the same way Reaper is. Maybe it could easily work the same way Reaper does as long as you haven’t customized the MIDI Environment, or aren’t using Flex Time, or haven’t frozen any tracks, or if Logic didn’t handle plug-in CPU resources dynamically the way it does, etc etc My new Logic Pro Book is out! Even in text we now have “paste and match style. For example, in my case I almost always want the MIDI sound channel and tempo to be changed to match the destination and almost never from the source.

Logic could pop up a dialog asking how you want to paste. Finale has an interesting approach where you can set preferences for pasting. It’s a surprisingly large set of prefs. For example, I almost never want to paste lyrics along with notes so I uncheck that box.

Now that the M1 chip is here, solutions that were impossible because of processor speed could now be revisited. You can post now and register later. Are we absolutely sure there is no way to delete both the regions and tracks at the same time? It seems strange that this wouldn’t be possible, but I’m not surprised at this point at what Logic can and can’t do. User profile for user: JG99 JG It’s not possible to select multiple tracks and delete them in the Arrange area. But, I’ve already accepted the fact, learned to live with it, and moved on.

Thanks for chiming in, Dave. It is quite possible of some FCP editing but as I said first you can do that very fast using two neighbor keys so it can look as one magic shot.

The screen capture tools use low FPS settings for media capturing about 15 fps for example. I tend to occasionally put a blank track between other tracks as a separator been doing this since the Master Tracks Pro days.
